Dr Maïté Corvol, MD, PhD, is a specialist in cartilage pathophysiology. She generated original data regarding:
1. Implications and mode of action of factors controlling the process of endochondral ossification: Growth Hormone (GH)-dependent factors (IGFs), VitaminD.
2. Evidences that Cartilage tissue is a hormone-dependent tissue: Characterization of Estrogen Receptor (ER) expression in human and animal cartilage. Impact of ER at two distinct ages: regulation of skeletal postnatal growth, and oin steoarthritic post menopausal women.
3. Endocrine Disruptors (ED) and bone skeletal: Gestational exposure to ED in rats alters growth plate cartilage differentiation and skeletal bone growth.
4. Characterization of intervertebral disc (IVD) cell phenotype, as chondrocytic cells. Applications to potential cell therapy of IVD.
5. Bioengineering of cartilage.
